Nematode Testing and Analysis
Any crop can be tested for the presence of nematodes, good or bad. We utilize a Cobb sieve-Baerman funnel technique to extract nematodes from soil samples and a rotary shaker technique for extraction from roots. The nematode population must be "active" at the time of sampling or the test can underestimate the population. Samples pulled from over-dry or recently frozen soils are not good candidates for testing using our methods.
Pest Pros Inc. has over 25 years of experience diagnosing nematode problems and helping growers to manage their affects. We provide quidelines for whether a test represents a population worthy of management inputs. Thresholds are not reported. The impact of a nematode population is variable depending on your specific conditions. We welcome phone calls or e-mail to discuss your specific situation. You will not be charged an additional fee unless a significant effort is required on our part to troubleshoot your problem.
